Because I love you…
Sidonie Brown

I let you slip up sometimes
Because I love you
I don’t mind when you yell
And I know
That when you
Lay your hands on me
And leave the marks behind
You don’t want me to forget
That you love me too
I stay with my friends sometimes
To give you your space
Because I love you
I don’t talk back at you or argue
Even if you’re wrong
Because I love you
I know you love me too
Because every time you get jealous
Every time you black out
You tell me
You don’t want me to leave you
It’s because that’s how you show
That you love me too
I know that when you
Talk to those other women
You don’t love them
The same way that you love me
Because you always come back to me
How I come back to you
You don’t touch them
How you touch me
When you leave your reminders
Of how much you love me
I know you love me because you
Always say sorry
And because I love you
I accept your apology
Because I know
You didn’t do it on purpose
It was after
Someone told me this
About their own relationship
To reveal that their relationship
Is really mine
That I realized
That isn’t love
